Breast Augmentation (Implants)
Today women have a choice of two different types of breast implants. One option is Saline implants. Saline implants are filled with sterile salt water. They can be filled with varying amounts of saline which can affect the shape, firmness and feel of the breast. The other option is Silicone implants . Silicone implants are filled with an elastic gel. The gel feels and moves much like natural breast tissue. Implants (whether they are saline or silicone) may need to be replaced or revised. It’s important to know that your breast implants are not permanent and may require replacement during ones lifetime. You should expect to have future visits with your plastic surgeon to discuss changes in breasts. While Dr. Kleinman was training in Baylor, Texas, he worked with one of the creators of the breast implant. 25 years later, Dr. Kleinman is offering both saline and silicone implants to his patients.
