Technically known as augmentation mammoplasty, breast augmentation is a popular and very common plastic surgery procedure which enhances the breasts, creating a fuller, firmer and more proportionate bust line. Women seek breast augmentation procedures for a variety of reasons, both aesthetic and medical, however the underlying desire is usually to achieve a boost in confidence. Some women are looking to restore breast mass following pregnancy or surgery or to balance out uneven breasts, while others are simply looking to increase the size of small breasts. Breast augmentation may increase breast size by one or more cup sizes.
During Dr. Kleinman’s plastic surgery residency in Baylor, Texas in the 1980’s, he worked with one of the creators of the silicone breast implant. Dr. Kleinman has over 20 years of experience working with both the silicone and saline breast implants and can give you the look you want. Some women prefer to have “just a little volume” while other women prefer “the full volume look”. Dr. Kleinman will listen to you and give you the results you want.
BREAST AUGMENTATION PROCEDURE
Your breast augmentation surgery will be completed at our dedicated plastic surgery clinic in Westchester, NY. The procedure may be performed with general anesthesia or with local anesthesia and sedation. An average of one to two hours is usually needed to complete the surgery. Incisions may be located in several possible locations including around the areola, in the armpit, or in the crease beneath the breast. Once the incisions are made, the implant is inserted either beneath the chest muscle or above the chest muscle. The implants are made of a silicone shell which is filled with either saline or silicone gel.
BREAST AUGMENTATION RECOVERY
Recovery after breast augmentation will include some swelling and bruising. The swelling may take as much as three to five weeks to subside. Some soreness and discomfort can occur which can be countered with medication, and the breasts may remain sensitive to stimulation for several weeks. Dressings are removed after several days while the stitches are usually removed within seven to ten days. Patients may be required to wear a surgical bra for a period of time. Most breast augmentation patients are back to work and their usual routine within a few days.
BREAST AUGMENTATION PATIENT REVIEWS
I have researched many surgeons in Fairfield and Westchester counties and have had cosmetic surgery with two other plastic surgeons in this area and I am certain that Dr. Kleinman is the best doctor around. Even after my second breast augmentation (with other surgeons) I was not satisfied with the shape of my breasts. There was rippling that I had to hide in the summertime and just an overall fake look about them.
When I decided to have breast augmentation surgery, my first and only call was to Dr. Kleinman. I had heard that he was the best and "they" were right
